The texture is amazing! As well as the colour composition and contrast :) The fire/smokey atmosphere is also great

I find someone always ends up liking my work... even if I hate it.
Effort tends to equal results, the trick is to not get frustrated :)

Very true. Most of the time I find artworking to be a kind of a form of an emotion control which all comes down to separating the negative emotions from the positive ones which actually make the art happen once in action.

I find it's hard to concentrate with negative emotions but if you get to that point when the emotions are deeper (when the "cold and calculating" stage arrives) I find great artwork can also come out of that. Artwork that represents the emotions, so it's a fine balance between deep anger or sadness and fits of rage and crying. One creates a masterpiece, the other destroys your canvas.
